Getting Ready & First Looks in the Garden

Elise’s lace wedding dress, long veil, and floral details felt made for an Everlastings in the Wildwood wedding. Brandon wore a deep green three-piece suit with a colorful floral tie, and the bridesmaids’ jewel-toned dresses perfectly complemented the bright garden florals. I also loved the hand-painted floral champagne glasses the bridesmaids used while getting ready. They were such a sweet detail for this whimsical wedding.

Of course, wedding mornings don’t always go exactly as planned. One of Elise’s dress straps broke shortly before her first look with Brandon. Thankfully, we had both brought sewing kits and were able to repair it in time! Moments like this are why I help my couples create flexible timelines with built-in buffer room. Being prepared meant Elise could enjoy her first look with her bridesmaids and with Brandon without feeling rushed, and still staying on track.

An Emotional Outdoor Ceremony at Everlastings in the Wildwood

Elise and Brandon exchanged vows under a gorgeous sweeping willow tree. They had a simple branch arbor draped in white fabric, greenery, and cascading flowers. The setting already felt so romantic that it didn’t need much additional decor. As you can see in these Everlastings in the Wildwood photos, the surrounding trees and gardens already create a naturally beautiful backdrop from every direction.

Their ceremony was so emotional. There were happy tears throughout, including from members of the wedding party. The joy on Elise and Brandon’s faces as they walked back down the aisle was one of my favorite moments from their Everlastings in the Wildwood wedding!

After the ceremony, we wandered around the property for wedding party and couple portraits. Everywhere we turned was another gorgeous backdrop, from the willow trees and stone garden paths to colorful flower beds, water features, and greenery-covered arches. These Everlastings in the Wildwood photos really show how many different looks you can create without ever leaving the venue, which is always a plus.

Sunset photos were important to the couple, and with gardens this beautiful, we made sure to take advantage of the soft golden-hour light before the day continued. The property spans 1.5 acres of gardens filled with plants, flowers, and three waterfalls. Couples also have access to more than 30 custom planters they can use as décor throughout their wedding day. It was the perfect setting for the whimsical, romantic feeling of Elise and Brandon’s Owosso, Michigan wedding.

Cocktail Hour & A Tented Everlastings in the Wildwood Wedding Reception

After portraits, we made our way back for cocktail hour, where Elise and Brandon had the most incredible grazing table for their guests. We also made time for formal guest portraits, so they would have photos of the people who showed up to celebrate them. They also had a pretty iconic dessert table if I do say so myself.

Everlastings in the Wildwood is perfect for intimate weddings, but it can also accommodate weddings with up to 250 guests. The tented reception space was open and comfortable while still keeping everyone surrounded by the gardens. It had market lights, a greenery-covered chandelier, and a full dance floor. The venue also has willow arches, fountains, wrought iron furniture, and benches placed throughout the property, giving couples even more options for décor and photos.

Elise and Brandon entered the reception and went right into cutting their cake, followed by their first dance, speeches, and parent dances. Then the dance floor opened, and let me tell you, these two legends know how to party! Their dance floor stayed alive all night, and it was so much fun capturing them and their guests celebrating under the string lights.
